05 600rr won't start

Yesterday I recharged the bmc air filter in my bike. I put it back in today and now it won't start. I took it back apart checked the connections and the filter. Everything looks ok. It might be just me but it seems like the sound it makes when the starter engages is different than normal. Bike doesn't pop or anything when trying to start either.

Ok got the bike running. Heres my question. Can you flood one of these bikes? Everyone says no but it was giving me the signs that it was. I've been told that if you don't let the fuel pump kick in before you try to start it will foul the plugs. True or false?

It is technically possible to flood the bike, but highly unlikely.

I personally like to let the gauges do their little dance and let the fuel pump prime fully before starting it but I cant see it causing any damage if you don't.
