Question Bikes rear wheel hops when you crack it

Hey i was in first gear on my bike and i cracked the throttle wide open till about 13,000 rpm's when i let my hand off the gas the bike started hopping and skipping like crazy...i hit the brakes and the bike did not stop hopping till i pretty much came to a complete stop...My guess was the chain was loose but when i checked it, it was fine...any ideas what it could be

engine braking slowed the rear wheel faster then your bike was slowing, causing it to hop and slide a bit
