Bike won't start.

Hi guys, not sure what the problem is and have read through many posts about bikes not starting. Tried to install projector headlights that seemed to work but after awhile but when I tried to start the bike up again (started up once and worked) it kept making a clicking sound more like buzzing just after its switched on, fuel prime and dash lights up then it just resets itself just like how it would when kill switch is on whenever I press the start engine and let go of it, could it be the battery? as I wasn't too sure since its more of a buzzing clicking sound then a click sound checked the main fuse and all the other fuses and they are a ok. its an 08 model with around 4000km's. Sound is coming from under the seat next to the battery.

Its about midnight here in aus so I can't really go and buy a new battery to see.

also another question is the bike ok to start without having the headlights plugged in?

To the fist paragraph....HUH?!Try rewording that a bit to make it easier to understand. But in general just start at the battery and trace back all the work you did putting the projectors in. If it wasnt doing it before the install then it stands to reason that it was something you did during the install

Yes the bike is fine to start without headlights. I do it all the time for track days on my 08 1K

Sorry about that it was late in the night and I was trying to work out what was wrong with the bike for 2hrs lol.

ok basically:
1. hooked up the low beam projector hid kit, started bike worked fine
2. hooked up high beam projector hid kit, bike wouldn't start.
3. took off headlights checked fuses, kill switch is on I hear the fuel priming when I try to start it.
4. kill switch is on, pressing the start button makes a loud buzzing sound next to battery and resets the dash like how it would when you try to start a bike.

I know that a click sound next to the battery would mean dead battery but not sure what a buzzing sound would be, coming from the starter magnetic? I'm hoping somehow it was the ballasts that drained the battery :S

For starters you have killed your battery, the clicking sound is the starter solenoid throwing back and forth.

As for the buzzing, that may or may not be normal. Some HID units will buzz a little due to the switching frequency used to generate the high voltage. Ever noticed how power lines buzz? Same thing going on in your HIDs. Check all of the connections and make sure that the ballast is secured properly, if you take a straw or something you can put one end in your ear with the other against what you want to listen to in order to locate the problem
