2008 600rr Shuts down

2008 600rr Shuts down
I crashed a while back and my kickstand wires ripped in half. I ended up just taping it so I would be able to ride back home. I haven't had a problem with my bike since until a week ago. I was riding around and my bike suddenly shuts off. It feels like it stalls then its dead and I just roll (all lights still works). I have to start it back up in order to get it running. Any ideas? Should I look at the kickstand first? Weird that a year later it starts acting up...

Thanks in advance :-)

im not sure if that circuit is normally open or closed, but yes, that would be a good place to start

I also changed the battery recently... would that cause any problems?

Redo your wiring, solder and glue lined heat-shrink.

Just twisting and taping up wires is a very good way to guarantee failure at a later date, moisture will get in there and corrode the wiring causing it to fail, not to mention the mechanical stresses placed on it by the vibrations of the bike etc.
