revs drop very slowely

anyone had this problem before.
when i rev my bike up the revs drop very slowely, eg; if i rev to 8grand it drops down very slow, its on my race bike.
anyone got any ideas why?

Do they drop slowly while you're in gear and moving, or while the engine is free revving? What year bike? What mods have you done?

when the bikes in neutral it does it, its an 06 engine, in a 03 frame, hrc wiring loom, hrc headers, no engine mods

I say start looking at the easy stuff frist. Like is it your handle grip. Hey it my be stupid but ive seen it happen. If its mashed up against the cable housing it would slow the down rev a bit.

Start trouble shooting but start with all the easy stupid stuff.

2008 CBR1000RR
APEX adjustable clip ons, M4 Slip on, just over 5k miles. New and ready to be abused.
