can someone please help me figure this out.

i am trying to put on a licence plate bracket on my 06 Honda CBR600rr and i am having a difficult time connecting the LED's to my running brake lights.
this is what happened when i tried:
i found my running brake light wire and striped it so that i can connect my LED light wire to it. when i connect it wires all together the LED's do not light up at all, but when i separate the brake wires and connect the LED wires to them when they are separated they turn on and the brake light turns off!!! this is crazy weird.
any ideas anyone?

Why are you connecting led's to your running light? You have a plug on your 06 that is for the tag light? What led's are you using? Are they drawing too much power? Bad ground, hooked up backwards?

the reason i am plugging it to the running brake light is because i want that led light to be on when the bike is on, and when the bike is on that brake light is on, so i figure that was a good idea.
the led lights only came with the stripped wires and on the instructions it says to connect to the brake light.
if you have any other suggestions i would appreciated.
oh, and the led's are very small, i dont think they are taking all the power away from that brake light, but you never know.

On the 03-06 you have a separate plug that is running light power that goes to the stock tag light... Sounds like you have something not hooked up correctly and I would use this plug instead of going to the taillight.

Check the led's on the battery to make sure they are working correctly, sounds like they may be blown and causing a dead short and your brake light to turn off when connected..
