I'm not sure how the 06 connector looks like for the starter switch but does it have the same amount of pins and wires as the 07? I'm thinking maybe there is a separate wire for the starter on the 07+ and the <06 they tied it with another wire? This is just a shot in the dark, I really don't know

Post some pics

yes they have the same amount of pins but, the black wire on the 06 was tied in with another wire, the 07 is not. i tried to figure it out with no success. im going to check the fuses right now and see if any are blown, but i doubt it cause nothing on that side would work.. im royally pissed off.

umm, the 06 start/kill switch is history. Declan just mentioned that the brake light switch might be the one thats causing the prob. might have to switch them around a bit.

you guys are going to love this shyt.......

so im trying to put on an 07 start kill switch, it didnt have the same adapter as mine so i had to use the one for the 06 and solder everything together. its not working. how did you get yours to work? thanks bud.

1000rr:
Yellow/Red = ST
Blue/White = HL
Black/Red = BAT4 (+)
Black = IG
White/Black = BAT2 (+)
600RR:
Yellow/Red = Starter Relay Switch = ST
Blue/White = power for the headlight = HL
Black/Red = Headlight Relay Power = BAT3
Black = Engine Stop Relay = IG
White/Black = Stop Power = BAT
Black/Yellow changes to White/Green. White/Green comes from a Fuse. For Brake light
Black/Green changes to Green/Yellow. This goes to the Tail Light.

sorry to piss on your cornflakes jeff but youre supposed to take the pins out of the 1000rr connector and press them into the 600rr connector, no soldering. whos wiring did you follow?

i had to cut and solder cause the connecting pins wouldnt fit in the oem 06 rr harness. no big deal on that part though..
the switch was off an 07 600rr.

and youre sure youre wiring is good yeah?

yeah i think so. only hing is the black wire. on the 06 it loops to the starter, the 07 it doesnt and i cant figure out what to do. everything works except the start switch.

theres an extra wire from what i read for the brake switch, but it looks the same as the other black wire for the starter, have you tried swapping them round?

the one for the starter is a solid black and the one for the light is green and black and yellow ad black. but come to think of it, the brake light didnt work when i tried to hook it up, hummmmmmm. ill go see.

thats for an 06. the 07 is different. it doesnt have that blk wire running through it like that.
i already have both. but i cant figure out what the hell im doing wrong.
has to be in the wiring, either that or its in gear and the stand is down!!!!! is the headlight switchin off when you hit the starter button?
god ******* damn it. the kickstand is down. i have it on the rear stand and forgot to put it up. im sure thats it..... ill go find out and send you a pm. what time is itover there? its 4:36 am here.
its 8.30 am here!! oh my god ill piss myself laughin if its the side stand!!!

well, go on ahead and piss yourself. cause it was the side stand and it was in gear.... aint that a bitch?

07+600rr and 1000rr masters are the same part. Not even part numbers differ between the two.

Yeah I know that...I found this out after I noticed the kill switches were the same so I looked into the MC. I was asking because I keep hearing different stories on whether or not the 07 kill switch and MC will bolt right up on a 05-06 without any modifications.

They do. Master cylinders, kill switches, and basically throttle tubes from all bikes (unless it's a fly by wire) will go from one bike to another. Clip-ons are a standardized 7/8" OD throughout all manufacturers.
