problem with tail light and rear brake pedal

Hi,

I got a 08cbr 600 with vortex rearset and pressure switch. Everything was installed when i bought the bike. I'm not sure if it was originally working or not but the tail light is not coming on when i hit the rear brake pedal. it comes on with the front brake.
anything i could try?

Check that the switch is working with a multimeter, and replace it if it isn't....

Then check the wiring to it as it may have been a dodgy job in the first place

wiring coming from the bike is good, at least according to the multimeter. I'm not getting anything form the switch though.
could i have a bad switch? I'm gonna take it off later on tonight. I needed to bleed the brakes anyways
