Possible Oil Pressure Issue
Sorry for my first real post for being a question but here goes:
I bought a salvaged 2003 600rr that was a theft recovery that the insurance company totaled out. I rebuilt it got it salvaged inspected and on the road. Ive put about a thousand miles on it so far and it is way faster that my old (very old) 500 ninja!
The oil pressure light came on after about 200 miles of total riding or so. I assumed that the oil had just expanded tot he point where it was "too full" and the bike was warning me. The reason i thought this is that day was the first time it was about freezing. I changed the oil and filter with amsoil 10w-40 and a honda filter when i rebuilt the bike.
The oil level is good and the bike runs fine with no problems doesnt overheat etc. I just replaced the oil pressure switch today and the light is still on. As far as i can tell the wire hasnt been broken or anything.
So where can i get a pressure gauge and/or what signs of low oil pressure should i look for. My dad is a mechanic and he rode the bike and looked it over quick and said he didnt see anything amiss and the bike runs fine.
