I bought a brand new CBR600rr and I adjusted mine lower around 980 ish just because of the HOT days !! It helps cool the bike in traffic.

980 seems awful low for our bikes. You have a radiator and a fan that will keep it cool. I wouldn't go much lower than 1200.

Not a great idea.... the reason its running cooler is because the mixture is WAY to rich.

Your idle should be 1300rpm +/- 100rpm
