I am going to to guess and say the ignition isn't off an 03-04 600rr? You need an ignition off one of these years. T

I agree with Tripage. Might be more helpful if you post some information about the what you did after someone tried to bust your ignition. Did you have to replace it or are you still using the original one? If you didn't replace it then there might be an electrical problem in your ignition. Your should be able to use a multimeter to confirm this.

Look in the bottom of the ignition and you will see a zener diode, if you don't then they sold you the wrong year, if you do then your zener diode is probably bad if it's good and your relay just isn't turning on then it your ecm.
Meter the zener diode and see what voltage is coming out. 12v in 9v out is what it should be. T

If the plugs were not the same then it was off another year. They look the same when you look at the ignition but the pin out is different and 03-04 are the only years with the zener diodes being used. 05-10 don't have this and are different. T

Ok thank you my good sir! I will try to go back and swap that out for the right one. That would almost have to be it cus it started right after they busted out the ignition. And if the wrong ones in there it still wouldnt start. ill go pick up a new ignition and key set fri and let you know how that goes. Thanks bud!

Did you give the bike a once over after the attempt to steal? They might have gone and started cutting wires after busting the ignition since it didn't work.

IPG is on in your clutch cover. Plug is under the gas tank. Make sure it's plugged in, might have come off if you pulled the tank for any reason. T

I unplugged the plug from the stator and put a meter on it, than cranked it over and it didnt read anything. Shouldnt i be getting something or is the sensor causing it to shut off?

It's on the clutch side of the bike, this is where your Ignition pulse generator
See the wire in the picture? check to make sure that is plugged in under the tank.

So today i figured out how to test the sensor and i got a 0.00 reading. I also tried a test lite and got nothing. So iam asuming the sensor is bad. Im going to pull the clutch cover off to look at it and see if there is a ware mark that isnt making contact with the teeth.

How did you test the sensor?

Back probe the yellow wire at its connector and measure the voltage?

yea i did that and the manual told me to disconnect the grey ecu plug and connect it directly to the yellow wire pin. I did that and cranked it and saw no reading at all.

The symptoms of this bike are very similar to my own bike only I suspect my ECM is bad.

Trip, I can't find a diode on my '04 ignition. The only one I know of and that's mentioned in the SM is the Clutch diode in the main fuse box.

Did you measure the other pin for the sensor IIRC it should be 5V, if so time for a new Ignition pulse generator then...

What year is your ecu from? If its an 03-04 you will need that diode...

^Are you talking about the clutch or ignition diode?

So they're paired to the ECM? Didn't know that. I bought an '04 ECM. If I need the diodes for the ECM I can ask the user I bought them from to send those as well.

Not paired to the ecm as such... if you have an 03-04 ecu then you need an 03-04 ignition barrel and and 03-04 harness for the extra wire (pink IIRC) from the ignition barrel to the ecu.

I believe you can run an 05-06 ecu on an 03-04 harness though, you just need the 03-04 ignition cause the plugs are different...

And the diode is a 3V zener, the anode goes on the pink wire and the cathode to the red/black one - it needs to be hooked up backwards to work.
