Key stuck in ignition

So my bad luck has finally cought up with me.

I can't pull my key out of the ignition, most likely because of a crash last year in which the tip of the key bent, and I've been postponing getting to the dealership to make a new one because I lack the time.

Regarding my problem, I've tried dripping a little oil in the ignition to lubricate the key, but that did nothing t unjam it (for some reason I can't find the WD40 can right now, don't know if that would have worked better). What do you advise me to do next? Is it possible to somehow dismantle the lock cylinder?

Um, your pretty much SOL there mate... WD40 would be a little better as it will penetrate quicker... just grab the top of the key with a pair of pliers and pull, hopefully it will come out.

Then once you have it out take to the tip with a hammer to flatten it back out - lots of light taps is the way to go.
