Lots of vibration under 7K RPM

Hey mates,

New to Honda, rode mostly Yamaha and Suzuki and just had a question. Bought a 2004 CBR rr, and noticed one HELL of a lot of vibration when under 7000 RPM. When above that, it's pretty smooth, but I am sporting a Yoshi slip on, and it just screams at those higher RPM's. The bike doesn't even redline into the 15 K range so I am assuming this is OK ?. My R6 never did this, so I was just curious. I also just ordered some higher end grips that are designed to lower the vibration, get rid of these OEM pieces of crap. So is this normal for the bike ?.

seems like my bike resonates heaviest around 6k. but its a just a small window of rpm range that I get the vibrations at. slightly above and below It fine. do you have the bar ends on the clip ons? Does it vibrate on you feet as well as the clip ons?

I would try some weighted bar ends along with your new grips to help reduce some of that vibration.

Yes, some responses :-).

They are the OEM hand grips, and no the foot pegs don't vibrate.

I ended up ordering - http://www.kneedraggers.com/product/...Two-Color-Grip.

Hmmm.... now that you guys mention it... it doesn't have any bars ends. I guess I should pick some up and screw those on as well.

^That's what we were getting at. The bar-end weights dampen the vibrations. Make sure you use some loctite on the new bar-end screws.
