ticking sound when accelerating

sounds like your finger tapping on a table and slowly goes away the higher rpm i go.....i recently lubed the chain up and it went away but now its back.....does this mean its time for new chain/sprockets?

have you adjusted your chain recently? checked the teeth on both sprockets? try to get some pictures!

Pictures would be helpful... a top down pic of the sprocket, a side on pic of the sprocket teeth, a couple of the chain and a side on one of the rear axle....

how many KM? can you put the bike on a stand and get it to make the noise?
