engine fan turning on too late?

I recently got a new to me 2008 600rr. I'm kinda worried because the engine fan doesn't turn on until 240*. I'm assuming that's a bit too hot? I've had a couple '03 - '06 and could have sworn they didn't get that hot.

Yea, I figured. Any ideas as to what it would be making it kick on 20* hotter?

check your thermostat and the sensor... You may be getting a faulty temp reading.

ie: gauge is reading 240 when its really 220.

check your manual/ download the pdf. Look under the trouble shooting section to direct instructions on how to test this.
