nothing.... it may have been used at the factory when being assembled but nothing goes into it... or at least your not missing anything so your not paranoid

An extension clip goes in there.

An extension clip goes in there to fasten fairings for 2009.

2007-2008 do not have this plastic piece.

I think It must have another use during production. Or they had the 09 fairing idea back in 07 and were planing ahead.

This is just speculation but my guess is they had the idea of hiding the ABS motor behind the fairings but since they didn't have an ABS unit functional yet they just left it open.
