Loss of Power...fuel filter?

Hey guys I have a 2008 600rr had it for about 2 months now. Ride almost everyday. Tonight was riding home on some open road, I opened it up and hit 6th gear, around 10-11K rpms it lost what seemed like all power and decelerated to around 8500-9k rpms. I gave it throttle again and it would pick up some speed but veryyyy slowly and had very little power. When I diengage clutch and rev it it does so just fine but seems a little lower and power still but I only notice a severe loss under power around 8500. When taking off and on lower rpms it still feels sluggish but not near as bad when it hits 8500. My intial thoght is a clogged fuel filter. Is this a possibility? Any other suggestions or has anyone else had this problem? The bike reads 28xxx on odo but it has a +5 so more like 19K. Thanks for the help.

It could be fuel filter/pump.
Also did your dash turn off? If so check battery connections.

no man it has full electrial power never lost that. Can the filter be changed or is pump and filter one single unit?

Have you removed the tank to do any work? Check for a pinched fuel line.
I think the pump/filter is one unit. Looking into it right now.

awesome thanks man. I will have to pull tank tomorrow after work and see what I can find. I hoping that the pump is just clogged and that be it.
