Gear selector arm / gear box question

Just had my chain and sprockets changed and when the mechanic was refitting the gear selector arm (on left side rearset, the arm which feeds the gearbox) he noticed it would push in too far and fail to change gear.

Sounds like a pin has come off the other side or something to stop it going too far. Took clutch cover off but it's behind the clutch, put back together and now when it fires up it rattles like a ducati!

Anyone know what this will be? I can't see how I could have done this at any point!

Part number 1 sounds like your problem. This is usually caused when the Shifter arm knuckle is put back on the spline from the engine and the bolt is not completely removed and it is hit back in place with force and causes number 1 to be bent.

Winner. He took the clutch off and that plate was bent and twisted. Straightened up now and runs sweet again. Lucky too as I'm off to Germany first thing in the morning!!
