Tachometer/ RPM Sensor

So I'm installing a Koso gauge on my 05. I think I have everything else figured out but the tach. From what I've read on here the yellow/green wire goes to the tach, but its not given me any luck. I put the multitester on between yellow/green and the green grounding wire and it justs reads steady close to 12v. This output does not change when I start the bike or rev the engine. Is this normal? Do I even have the right wire (I haven't had any success with the other wire options either)? If anybody could provide some insight, I am stumped.

PS. While I was f***ing around, the left signal, low beam, and high beam indicators all decided to come on and stay on. I have them set up exactly the way they were yesterday; they were working perfectly then. I'm not as concerned with this issue but if anybody has ideas, please share.
