The oil light is normal to come on as soon as you turn the key on without starting the bike and won't go away until the engine is started the oil level that you have now sligtly over the first line is not that much asit dies kt take that much to reach the too and won't harm anything

If it doesn't challange you it won't change you

hey moe thanx..

about the oil the level is sligtly over the second line no the first one, thats why i think, i have to drain a little bit to be between the two lines.

I meant the first line looking at them from the top not the bottom it does not take that much oil to surpass that line ie no need drain some it won't hurt the engine but if draining some would make you feel at ease go ahead make us when you are checking the oil level make sure the bike is on a flat straight surface and off the kick stand and be upright off course not leaned over to one side or the other

after shutoff.

wait 2 minutes before checking level?

allows oil to drain into sump.

(for 09 anyway)... maybe same for 06?
