03 CBR600 Ignition Switch

So, my bike had it's ignition wires recently cut, either to steal or just because people in this world can be cruel for no reason. Either way, I have both parts and I'm planning on soldering the ignition back together.

First, is this a bad idea? Second, what is the tool and size to get the ignition switch off? I have used the search feature before posting and I also know it's a torx. Yet I don't know if it's a security torx or the torx size.

Thanks!

Nope, your idea is perfectly fine. Just make sure you solder it properly and cover the joins with heat shrink.

Have a look at the bolt, if there is a little pin in the middle it's a security torx. Not sure on size of the top of my head.

Awesome. Figured out that I needed to actually get the bolts tapped out. Got it soldered back together and running. I appreciate it!
