check engine light? and refuse to idle

I have a 09 600rr she some times gives me a problem when I've been riding for a few hours then come to a stop. The bike will just die out like I've hit the kill engine switch or something. If I keep the revs up though then this problem doesn't happen and its never done that while I've been in motion either. My dad seems to think it could be could be a bad relay? Also the check engine light will randomly come on but once I turn the key off and back on the light is gone. The check eng. light only comes on about once every 50 or so starts I'm completely clueless on that one. Any advise is welcome and appreciated.

Could be a bad connection in your wiring loom, or if you have a LED relay and its came lose it may need reconnecting.

Happened to me before while indicating left, bike shut down and red lights.. later found out the LED relay wasnt in 100% (which led me to a few other issues now sorted)
