bike not shifting into 3rd gear?? help...

Kinda strange... I changed my oil today.. installed sato frame sliders.. put the bike back together and took it for a spin. The bike won't shift passed 2nd gear ? any ideas why?

Did you tighten the shifter lock bolt??
Is the lever attached to the shifter at the proper angle?

Those are the two the strike me as the most probable casues.

I doubt you bent a shift fork unless you totally stomped on the shifter....

Strange indeed. It doesn't sound like anything you did could have caused the problem. Under warranty....call the dealer.

what does it do when you try to shift into 3rd? does it make any noises?

Yeah gonna need some more info on exactley what happens when you try to shift, and how are the other shifts feeling

I got the same problem with my bike. I only noticed it a couple days ago. So sometimes, not all the time, when I go to shift into 3rd it doesn't even feel like my shifter really moves, so I either have to pull my foot up again, harder, or let out the clutch, pull back in and it goes into gear. All the other gears seem to be fine.
