Describe the smoke better? Is it smoke or cold weather exhaust vapor? What color is it? How dense is the smoke? Does it have a oily/fuel smell (is this why you think it is oil related)? Has it always done this or has the bike just started doing it recently?

It's condensation in the pipe. Nothing to worry about.

i was told the RR smokes due to the top stage fuel injectors. personally, i've never seen mine smoke but i've been behind RR's on the track and seen the puff of smoke

Mine also does this at first start up. I agree with NewRedRider on it being condensation.

I've seen that too marc. It's usually just the ECU dumping fuel on decelleration. I noticed mine doing it on the dyno and questioned the guy. On the next run I grabbed a handful of smoke just to make sure it was fuel.

ok..little more info for you guys, the bike has 2800 miles on it, and like i said it's obviously an oil smoke, i'm a tech at a car dealership, so i am mechanically inclined, it's blue smoke, it's oil it smells like oil, i just don't know why the bike is ONLY doing it when it's cold everytime i start it, and i keep it in my house in the basement, it's never outside, but again it only does it when it's cold and when it warms up it stops..i could be at a stop light and there's a bunch of smoke pouring up through my fairings and in front of the bike..

Agreed,

It could be from all those bumps riding up and down the stairs to get that thing into the basement every night.

not condensation..condensation is not blue smoke nor smells like oil..my smoke smells like oil..like i said i'm a tech, i know what burning oil smells like..and i could be riding it for an hour straight, it will stop smoking afterwarmup, if i like the bike sit for an hour or two, it'll do it again when i start it up and ride it again until it warms up, condensation would have been gone by that time

He's kidding.

But you can take it out for a good HARD ride. I mean don't let the RPM's get under 9k and hit the rev limiter. Ride the living piss out of it for a couple o' hundred miles. If it smokes the next morning you probably didn't seat the rings.

Be honest, have you been babying it? Being "Gentle" and not really strecthing the "legs" of these bikes can cause the rings not to seat. With a 15k rpm range some people are afraid to get the rpm's very high when they first get them.

Much like any other engine, the rings and pistons need to be heat cycled in order to seat properly. The only thing you can do now is ride the hell out of it. It may stop smoking after awhile or it might not. Either way, be prepared to take it to the dealer under warranty.

one of my co-workers now used to work at the place i bought it as a tech, he told me to baby it until about 500 miles of the break in period and then the last 100 miles, ride the piss out of it, and no i'm not afraid of high rpm's on it, i've redlined it before but not for long, the guy told me i'm supposed to ride the piss out of it to seat everything properly, so i don't baby it that much

I hear you. But your friend didn't tell you quite right. The owners manual has one page on the break-in period and all it says is don't do hard roll-ons and don't keep it at 1 rpm for extended periods. No mention of keeping it under any certian rpm range.

Bundle up and go for a long ride. Get it past 3,000 miles and reassess the situation.

Another thought. Have you changed the oil? Make sure it doesn't have too much oil in it. Make sure you check it by holding it upright also. Not on the kick stand or rear stand. Warm it up and then turn it off. Wait a few minutes and then check it.

i changed the oil at 600 miles and after that..everything has been gravy, hasn't smoked since i did the oil change..my first guess is the oil filter is a little loose..cuz it's burning oil coming from the exhaust, but if it was loose it would have been smoking after i did the oil change it's got 2800 on it now and it's been smoking since about 2500..and it's not possible for it to have too much oil in it if i smell it keep gettin burned up, i have checked it when i first started noticing it was burning i had my dad hold it straight up and i leaned over and checked it, it was alright..i was just asking this question to see if anyone had a related problem, i'm starting to notice it's not a common problem.. i'll keep checking the bike over and looking for an oil leak on the exhaust, cuz that's what it seems like to me, blue smoke that smells like oil coming up through the fairings coming off the headers =\
