Can't lock the steering

Shortly after I bought the bike I noticed that my steering won't lock, not sure why, but the guy who sold the bike neglected to mention that. There is no visible damage in the key hold and I can't see anything out of the ordinary that can cause that. You guys got any suggestion on how to narrow down the cause?

are you pushing the key in? once you turn the wheel all the way left or right you have to push the key in further in order to make it turn

It won't lock if your holding the bars fully turned left or right. You have to turn the bars ever so slightly back to straight and the key will lock. Play around with it. Just wiggle the bars back and forth and it should lock.

Did you know your bars will lock in the full left position too? You probably did, but I still think it's cool.

I tried and tried it's hopeless, I'm thinking of buying a complete separate set of igition/gas cap/tool case/truck lock as a solution to resolve this problem.

Are you pushing down on the key when you're trying to lock it?

Yap, I did all what (pushed the key down, wiggle the key, move the steering a little).

Call your dealer and ask for a service writer in the service department. Tell him you want to ride the bike over and have him look at it.
