Installed motion pro throttle and now....

So I feel like a retard and Ill tell you why.

I pulled off everything that is necessary in order to swap throttles and I put all of the bolts and screws into baggies with labels on them this time. The throttle install even seemed to go much smoother than others from the looks of a couple threads, however; when I went to reinstall everything I got it done quickly and neatly, tried to start the bike, and what do you know, bike just turns over and over and wont start. I can hear a sucking noise so I know it is pulling air and fuel into the motor. I checked everything that I can remember unplugging and made sure it was all plugged back in. It is almost like I don't have any spark. The fuel lines were not pinched or anything.

My question is, would it be easy to unplug something that would stop your spark? Or does this even sound like something came unplugged during the process? As far as I can remember there are only two plugs, the one for the IAT sensor and the one for the map sensor.

If not a plug what do you guys think?

Literally the only thing I did other than unscrew bolts and screw bolts back in was take the air filter (K&N) out and clean the hell out of it with their recharger kits. The only other longggg shot that I could think of is that I put to much oil onto the air filter and its not allowing enough air through, but that seems very doubtful.

I am in need of help! I hate when stuff like this happens... Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys,

I got some more information before someone suggests something. The kill switch is not engaged and I tested the new kill switch before starting to remove air box and everything worked fine, i did not disconnect anything on the gas tank, the fuel lines were not pinched, the gas tank is priming just fine, and i had no left over bolts or anything. There are no error codes it just won't start. Turns over and over but won't catch.

This weekend i am going to go through my steps one more time and check over the vacuum lines, fuel lines, and various connectors that could have came loose. My next steps will be to check for fuel and spark.

Is there a way i could have accidentally shut the gas tank off (where is the fuel shut off?), cause it seems like its either not getting spark or fuel and I'd rather check for gas before spark

Check all your connections, electrical and the vacuum hoses going into the air box. It's easy to miss one; I know from experience. I know for sure there is at least one or two that are 'tricky' be patient and recheck everything. If you didn't do anything else, and it was working fine before then it has to be something simple.

Thanks Makct, that's what I am gunna try and do. That's why I am so frustrated haha, it started perfectly fine every time... Ill figure it out. Any other advice is appreciated.

Did you have to remove the injectors? If so, make sure they go back in the proper order (if they aren't already). That could throw things off as well. Basically just do everything over again. Just be super careful. Take your time and try not to get frustrated.

Chances are really really high that you did something...

Only thing I can suggest is that you've not plugged something in properly, or plugged it into the wrong spot (did you undo the speed sensor?). A pinched fuel line won't do it, and pinched hoses will stop the bike, but it will still fire and run for a little while before vacuum in the tank gets too high and the fuel pump can't suck.

Also check that you haven't dislodged something such as the crank angle sensor or the clipon harness. They can look plugged in and still cause problems.

Bike will still fire with MAP sensor problems, just won't run too well.

Yes, this hose falls out pretty quickly. It's a common thing to overlook and a PITA to get to. That's the one that I've let lose before and it took me a while to figure out WTF was wrong.

I made sure the map line was routed correctly and not pinched last night along with all the fuel lines/other vacuum lines weren't pinched either.

I double and triple checked the connectors, most actually physically unplugging and plugging back in. The only two that i unplugged were the ecu and the ait sensor right behind the ecu.

I saw that the k&n oil i put on the filter dropped out onto my engine case and made a little pool under the starter (i put way too much on) but that wasnt affecting anything.

I retraced my steps, uninstalled everything and installed it all over again this time paying extra attention to connectors and any pinch-able lines.

Tonight I will take the side fairings off and check the fuses (is there one in particular that might affect fuel/air/spark and where is it located?)

If there are no blown fuses i will proceed to check for spark.

While i was changing out the throttle and cleaning the air filter the injectors just kind of hung there, could this have dried them out? I have heard if they dry out its really hard to get them started.

I'll look into the crank angle sensor and clip on harness tonight as well. I didn't unplug any of the injectors originally, but after it wouldn't start I unplugged and replugged them all back in.

I dont think it has to do with the BAS but who knows at this point. How would I bypass it?

Not making any progress right now... Trying the wide open throttle philosophy now. I just checked for the fourth time that everthing was plugged in. Unplugged everything and plugged it all back in.

The fuses are all good btw. Isnt there another fuse box somewhere on the bike?

I ended up doing the open throttle trick that I saw moe suggest in a search that I did and it took a long time but finally fired up and kept it running. Thanks again everyone,

The injectors don't dry out. Their seals perish as they get old but they don't dry out.
