Smile NEED HELP, fuel pump isn't priming ** Resolved a loose sensor**

First things first, I'm new to this, so hello everyone and sorry in advance for any mistakes I make.

So this is my story, I have a 2004 cbr600rr, recently done some work on my headlights putting LED's in. Putting the bike back together, I accidentally put the BAS upside down, not realizing this spent hours trouble shooting. finally I figured out my mistake and corrected it, but the fuel pump still does not prime.
So I have tested all the relays, they are working fine. When i hit the kill switch i can hear the engine stop relay clicking, however the fuel cut off relay is not operating when you turn the ignition on, to allow the pump to prime.
Also I have checked all the fuses. After all the trouble shooting I have done I am lead to believe it is the ECU.
I have been reading through many threads, and have read something about a diode in the HISS ignition receiver blowing and causing the symptoms I am experiencing. How do I go about testing this?
If anyone has any info they can offer, solutions, or can help me in any way I would love to hear, I'm getting desperate at this point

When the fuel pump does not prime it's one of three reason
1. kill switch internally got a loose wire ( common)
2. Bas hooked upside down ( you already fixed yours )
3. Fuel pump relay ( left side of the bike switch it with fan relay and test it )

Thanks for replying so quickly.
Its not the kill switch, I've tested it and when you operate it you can hear the Engine Stop Relay clicking.
Cant be the BAS, I have turned ti up the right way, also i have bridged off the ports to make sure it was not a faulty BAS.
On the left hand side of the bike there is three relays first one is Fuel cutoff relay, second one is the Fan control Relay and the last on is the Engine Stop Relay.
I have swapped all the relays around and they are all working fine.
The Fuel Cutoff Relay is not getting the signal from the ECU to operate, I checked this by connecting a volt meter on the energizing ports for the relay and turned the ignition on and there was no voltage. That's why i think it is the ECU or possible the HISS aerial unit.

I do not know much about the HISS since US version does no comes with such feature it's possible that it has something to do with the issue you got . How about your kick stand switch ?

Moe the kickstand switch disables the start button, not the fuel pump.


Its something you did when working with the lights. The only thing you changed prior to your issue.

Didn't think I could be the kick stand, but iv already tried that.
I don't know how the lights could affect it, all I have done is put LED's in and just connected them to the little middle light. I was thinking it could of been something I have done trying to fault find my original problem when I has BAS upside down. I was bridging the ports for the fuel pump at the relays to make sure it that wasn't my issue, could that have shorted out the ECU? I'm completely lost at this point.

The ecu switches the grounds. You didn't hurt it.

I hope not cause she's an expensive little box.
The only other thing I can think of is the hiss areal that sits on the ignition barrel, do you know how I could test it?

You are over complicating things. The bike worked, then you messed with it. Now it doesn't. Go over everything you did. Hell even undo what you did just to be sure.

Grasping at straws isn't a method of troubleshooting.

Your ecu won't break because you added LEDs, neither will your relays or hiss.

Thanks mate.
So in the past hour my bike rored into life (beautiful sound might I add). I did what you said wibbly went over everything, it ended up being one of the sensors under the fuel tank had come loose. I must of accidently disconnected it when lifting up the tank to check the fuel pump.
To think I was so close to buying a new ECU, thanks for reassuring me it was not that, could of got expensive very quickly.
