2006 CBR600RR flicker issues

Hello everyone,

Once again, I am very grateful this forum exists! been very helpful.

I have offered to fix up my friends 06. It needed a few things including sorting out the flickers because none of them work at all. Electrics is not my strongest point :(.

Just to confirm, none of the flickers work and nor do the L or R turn lights on the dash work. Everything else on the bike works just fine.

The 2 rear indicators are missing. The 2 front indicators have only 2 wires (aftermarket) where the original ones had 3. The rear indicators only have 2 wires as standard. what is the need for the 3 wires on the front ones?

What I have done so far is connect a rear indicator up and a front one (2 wire indicator, I tried all the combinations) and I tested the indicator switch with a multimeter and all is well with that. I have also checked all the fuses and none of them are blown. Im just not sure about the 3 pin (fuse?) not getting any continuity there.

Does anyone have any suggestions or things I can try? Any help will be very appreciated!

Hi Guys,

just for reference if anyone else has a similar problem:

I couldn't find the 05-06 workshop manual, only the owners manuals. So I had a look through the 03-04 workshop manual and it told me the relay was in the circuit board in the instrument cluster. It told me to short the wires and test the flickers. well suddenly they all worked, not flashing of course just a constant glow. So it seems like the relay which is part of the circuit board for everything else is finished. This might be a very expensive flicker repair...

Look for a 2nd hand dash, it's your best chance... it still might not be the solution for your problem...

Have you checked the loom?, Fuse box?... A dash might be around 200/300 USD...
