Unhappy No top end power in 6th gear

I have a 2007 600rr and its having trouble pulling past 11k in 6th gear. I was wide open and couldnt increase speed at all past 11 or just over, i realized the problem and downshifted and the bike had no problem holding 14k then upshifted again and still would budge past that 11k area.

The two suspects in my mind are the ECU or the fuel pump. I am open to ideas. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions on a remedy?

Not often, but that doesnt mean the motor shouldnt rev through its operating range. It wasn't until I geared the bike down w/ a sprocket kit that I was able to go WOT in 6th, before I would back off around 130 so I didn't realize/notice the problem.

If anyone is interested...

I found the problem to not only be in 6th gear but almost every gear was hesitant at high rpms.

I ended up taking the tank apart and cleaning with apple cider vinger + bb's and have a new fuel pump on the way, the sock on the old one is pretty beat up. I wish I could have just spend $15 on a new sock/filter attachment through Denso but doesnt seem like a possibility.

We'll see in a couple days if that doesnt do the trick

Hey Mate,

Your problem is very common, happened to my cbr 600rr i couldnt red line any gear or go past 180km/h after much research its a fuel pump problem. I ended up buying a used 05 Fuel Pump for my 04 for $300 and just waiting for my next track day on the 16th to test out the problem, but the bike sounds like its healther just running. (bike not registered for road to test out)

I had the same thing just past two weeks. Check ur map senor. I have a 2005 cbr600rr with 780 miles and I changed gas tank fuel filter fuel pump. And spend a lot to try to fix that same problem. Took it to two dealers in Florida where I picked up the bike. They were dumb founded also. Did a lot of research and came to one conclusion map senor. Check ur gauges when u first turn ur key to the on switch and see if u see a F1 blink. If u do check how many times it blinks. And look for the forums in here that says what the blinks mean.

Guess you mean $30? Otherwise that fuel pump should be pure gold inside

Live to ride!
