Crank, weird noise, no start 2008
Hey guys, have been searching but haven't found my issue.
Bike was running fine (with clicking sound in front, but I think one of my headers was loose - not the issue I don't think) but was leaking oil from a crack in right side clutch cover. Ordered new one and replaced the cover, refilled with oil. As I replaced, the idler cog and starter cog fell out, I just replaced (with both wave washer and other in correct order) linking the starter, idler and crankshaft cogs together. As I did this, I had to rotate the crankshaft cog counterclockwise by 1 tooth (would this make a huge difference?). I now go to start the bike, fuel pump starts up, lights good, dash good but there is a weird sound coming from the rear of the engine (sounds like an old mosquito lamp electric sound but much faster, perhaps starter). I start up and it cranks but doesn't start. After a few try-starts, Fi light comes on.
I think it may be the starter or tiny bit of slack when crankshaft was rotated? Maybe the cam position sensor? But it was running perfectly fine before I replaced the case, and the wiring looks fine. Any ideas?
Fuel pump primes.
Bank sensor is bypassed.
Bike is in neutral, KS down, 'killswitch' is set to start.
