2016CBR600 L-Engine Bolt Runs Short?

Hello everyone,

Before and after I removed both of my engine mounting bolts, flange 12x60, I realized that the right engine mounting bolt, flange 12x60 "runs perfect" and "sticks right out of the back of the engine frame". However, the left OEM engine mounting bolt, flange 12x60 does not cover the entire area/space/thread.

Could that be a factory defect, or was this engine mounting bolt, flange 12x60 designed short for a reason?

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!
Please see attachments.

Regards,
Francisco

if it engages enough threads it's fine.

generally speaking a bolt only needs to engage its diameter in threads to have its full strength. so these 12mm bolts would only need to engage 12mm of threads to be fine. i'm sure these engage many more than that.

Wibbly,

-You're right.
-My bolt engages 12mm or more.
-So, thanks for teaching me something new.

Sincerely,
Francisco
