Weird Kickstand Issue...

Situation: my friend has a '13 600rr. When she puts her kickstand down while in gear, the bike does NOT shutoff.

Are there any solutions other than:

1) cleaning the sensor/wires/area from road grime
2) checking ground wires

Thanks for your help.

Check the harness for shorts. The kickstand switch is wired fail safe so it opens to trip. This would make a loose or corroded connection act as though the kickstand was always down

The only way for it to act as though it's always up is for the wires to be shorted. Chances are the harness was improperly routed and got pinched, or the switch failed so someone jumpered it out
