Headlight switch locator pin

I took the turn signal/headlight switch off the bike to clean out the gunk causing the turn signal to stick. in the process of removing it, I somehow broke off the small pin that engages with the clip on to keep the switch from rotating.

I am trying to NOT buy a new switch just for this, but it is really annoying to have those buttons float around on me. does anyone have any suggestions on how to "stick" that switch to the bar?

just put a single wrap of electrical tape below the switch. it'll swell the bar size enough that the housing will grab and stay put.
