Exclamation Throttle Cable Issue??

when my bike is off and i pull back on the throttle and let go it doesnt return to start position

when my bike is on and i pull back on the throttle and let go it does return
to start position

the guy at the bike shop said to try cable lube...i really cant because the cable is pretty much inaccessible

any suggestions?

i have a '03 600rr no mods

just take the switch housing apart on the handle bar and pop the cables out of their respective holders. should only need a screw driver and maybe a small adjustable wrench.

spray some cable lube down the cable and the cable tube. make sure the cables operate ok before you put them back into the holders (not kincked or pinched anywhere). then i'd put it back together making sure everthing is smooth to operate as i put it together.
