where exactly is the rectifier

i have an 03 i did searches, read up on similar issues that im having. I want to try to make my own heat shield for it, but i have no clue where it even is? Anyone have pics or anything? (i did a search, i only find threads talking about it not showing where it is or how to take it off)

behind the left fairing.. you can't miss it... it's near the radiator and attached to your frame... it's a black thing that's a square... prolly about 3 inches by 3 inches..

I have an 05, but you can see it through the hole in the left fairing. Look down. It's got a silver plate on top.
