ECU Part #

I just picked up a salvaged '06RR however the ECU is missing. How do you tell which unit you need? I'll more thane likely be running with a PCIII so dose it even matter if the ECU is from an 05 or 06. 49 state or Calli????

It shouldnt matter which year (05 or 06) the ECU is from. Obviously an (03-04) ECU wouldnt work, but you know that already. I dont think there are any differences in 49 state vs. cali bikes as far as the ECU is concerned. If you have to buy the whole thing anyway you might consider getting the HRC ECU which allows you to custom tune both sets of injectors. Then you wouldnt need the powercommander.

First make an "S".............for snake, uh.................I mean.............dragon. Then a more different "S".

I don't know if I could afford an HRC unit! What I found out was the 38770-MEE-A02 is the 49 state unit and the 38770-MEE-L02 is the Cali unit. I've found a couple of decent deals on the L02's that combined with a PCIII would still be LESS money than the stock ECU ($546) I have no real idea how much the HRC unit would be. Or where I might fine a retired unit.
