I need a bike tech (kawi question)

My buddy just bought a two bros slip-on for his 06' zx6r and i installed it for him and i'm having a problem that i don't know how to get around, the old muffler has some kind of EXUP valve in the old muffler and the two bros instructions just told me to disconnect the EXUP cables from the computer module. now that i got the two bros pipe on and everything is hooked up, whenever i start the bike it runs like CRAP and the fuel injection light comes up, but here's the thing..if i turn the EXUP motor actuator on the module the light goes out and it runs fine, but now everytime i start the bike, the module re-cycles the EXUP motor and i'm back in the same position. i tried to just disconnect the exup module and it didn't help.

(I already tried finding FAQ's on the two bros website for this, no luck. also tried finding something about this on a kawi forum, again no luck)
