Need Help...

My neighbor just moved in and he has an 03' with only 900 miles on it, well it sat for 5 months and back in February when he started it, he let it run for a few minutes, then he blipped the throttle a little bit and the bike died and would not start again. He has been trying off and on to get it to start, it will not fire. You can smell gas and it is continuously trying to start but nothing.
Does anybody know what is going on or what to check perhaps to point me in the right direction so I can give him a hand?

How do you know there's a pilot at your party? He'll tell you.

Tell him to pull the plugs out and let the cylinders dry out overnight. Don't try to clean the plugs. Just put some fresh gas in and try it again. If that doesn't work try holding the throttle wide open and crank it for about 10 seconds at a time. Make sure he has a fully charged battery.
