Bike Engine Shutoff?

A good buddy of mine just brought this '04 hornet from a dealer. There's about 3.5k on it and he's been on it for only 500 of those miles. He was on the highways twice when the engine shut off. He swears that he didn't touch the kill switch. What happened was that he was going 100mph+ and all of the sudden the bike shuts off. From behind, his lights were on, but he just lost power while I shot past him. By the time I came back, he couldn't start his bike. We waited at least an hour before the decided to crank up. Anyone with any ideas?

Check the battery, battery terminals and the charging system of the bike

If it doesn't challange you it won't change you
