Battery?? RR Switch??

Hey guys I wasjust trying to figure out what is wrong with me bike. It's an 04 that I just put a new battery in and I went out riding lastnite and when I stopped for gas after about 40 mins of riding the bike wouldn't start. It tried to turn over but acted like the battery was dead. So I push started it and rode it home. Turned it off at home and tried to start right after I got home and did the same thing. So I let it sit there over night with no charger or anything on it. When I got up this morning it started right up. I know some people on here were talking about something called an RR switch?? Or a pulse Generator? How much does it cost to fix? Any help is appreciated!!

03/04 models has had issues with the regulator/rectifiers. if it gets hot,
it doesnt operate like it should which gives you the problem your experiencing now.
thats why you cant hot start. only cold start when the rectifier is cool.
one thing you could do is make a heatshield for your current R/R or just get an 05/06
R/R...they come with a shield for it.
