Any EE's here?

Hey whats up guys? I'm seeking advice on a remote start/alarm setup on my motorcycle.

I need to take a instant signal of +12v that lasts .7 seconds, and delay it for 2 seconds, and then output for 1.5 seconds. (.7 secs is not long enough to start the bike when cold, and the delay is to allow the fuel injection to calibrate on startup).

My friend has come up with a possible solution to delay it, using the LM555 (http://www.national.com/mpf/LM/LM555.html) utilizing a POT that ranges from 1Mohm to 10Mohm, and a CAP that is 10uF. That SHOULD take care of the delay, but I have no clue where to start converting a .7secs signal to 1.5secs..

Anyone have a possible easier solution to incorporate the 2?

try a securitron TM-9. this extends the relay output.

wait....nvm it can only do 2-36 seconds...we can't do 1.5 with that
