sure it's not the brakes? drilled rotors make a lot of noise...

+1 on the brakes. My OEM pads never made noise but the Galfers I have installed now do make a whining noise. I never noticed it until I played back some video that I took from my tank mounted camera.

I have the same problem

It starts a bit after i fire her up and goes away after a bit of riding

I have ruled out the fuel pump issue since the noise isnt coming from anywhere near the tank right above my belly.

As millertime said its coming from somewhere inside the clocks.

Since this is my first injection bike i have no idea if its the injectors.

Could be a squicky oil pump??
Wouldnt that show up right away??

Do you have a puig windscreen? I installed mine, no problems. About 2 months after installation it would make a loud whining sound. the higher the rpm the louder it whined, took me forever to figuare out what it was.

...is it the radiator fan spinning? Is that the whining sound you are referring to?

I was thinking the same thing. The fan can be pretty loud when the bike is stopped at idle.

+1^, when my bike hits 220 degrees, the fan switches on, and it makes a loud whining noise, usually while you are riding the air will cool the radiator, and the fan will switch off.

sorry for undiging this thread.
I noticed that the whining begins as soon as the temp shows up on the clocks.

Could it be an issue with the cooling system??

ps:its not the fan

I thought it was the fan also but it wasnt it. I think I have figure it out. I was dumb and didnt replace the gaskets for my headers. My friend told me that it was more than likely that. Hope it works.
