High idle when first start up 600rr

I haven't been riding much because it's winter here in Seattle but recently when I started my bike up for the first time in a while it was idling extremely high. 3k to 4k to be exact. It drops down eventually but what would cause it to do this when it has never done this before?

Normal. it happens for the same reason a car does when it's cold out.

faster warm up.
