headlight base melted

So i got some lockhart phillips yellow headlights and a couple of days ago i noticed they wouldn't turn on. So popped it out to find that the little plug that the bulb plugs into (between the bulb and connector) had begun to melt. No problems with any other bulb. Any ideas?? Are they just getting too hot?? it would only happen after very long rides

What is the wattage on the new bulbs?

I'm never wrong. I once thought I was wrong, turns out, I was mistaken.
