Starting problem?

So I left my bike sitting for about 3 weeks (bad idea) and tried to start it up. I was successful the first time, but the second time it would just do that thing were you press the button and it sounds like starting but it doesn't. So i trickle-charged the battery, and tried to start it again. No success there. I looked on this forum, and tried the open throttle while starting idea, and it worked. I left it running for about 20 minutes (it got to 220 F), and the decided to go outside and ride it around the apt. complex. Then the bike decided to cut out while I was in first going over a speed bump. I then tried to roll it and start, and it sounded like it was catching but then stopped. Then I tried the previous open throttle method and it woulnd't work either. What do I do?

This is a 2007 600rr with 4000 miles on it.

If you leave gasoline sitting for long periods of time, it tends to break down. Try fillin that baby back up with some brand new 91 octane and hopefully that will keep her runnin smoothly.
