Metallica rocks! I agree that their older stuff is better though.

I caught the program too... Lot of talk about how a near-death experience shaped some of the songs, etc.

I am going to probably get the album but I wasn't really taken aback. Maybe it is just unreal that they have another album I have to unlearn what I know about their music.

Agreed! Everything happens for a reason, but don't forget how Mustaine was close to tears when he was saying how he effed up on the SKOM video. He said it best himself "It's so hard to watch everything you guys do turn to gold and everything I do backfires"

Not bashing Mustaine or Megadeth, I'm a fan as well. But you can admit that he still is jealous and regrets what he did. Anyway, who cares, Metallica is Metallica and Megadeth is Megadeth. To each their own I guess, we are all entitled to our own opinion.

I've had the new album since last Wednesday. I've listened to it at least 20 times. I would say its their 5th best ablum ever. The first four are still my favorites but the new one was a suprise for me. I had very low expectations after the last one.

Yeah, I don't know what was up with that. All I know is after watching the movie, and then hearing that horrid snare drum I just wanted him to die..

I got a chance to listen to it a couple of times Friday night in cozye's truck on the way to Barber, and I was very impressed. Taking into consideration that I really have not liked anything since the black album; to me even Black was alright at best, and everything else after that just seamed extremely WEAK. But this new album is without a doubt rockin. definatly old hardcore metallica with a little bit of some updating.

I still listen to the old stuff on a weekly basis-Kill em ALL, Ride the Lightening, Master, Justice, most of them are on my IPOD, and this new one will be on it too by the end of the week.
