3 Movies that changed your life...??

I thought it would be cool to post up a list of 3 movies that changed the way you see or do things. Movies which will change your outlook on things, or movies that change your life.

With winter hitting alot of us, we tend to hide indoors, and movie season erupts, so maybe something will pop up that I haven't seen, and should?

Post up your top 3 and why they affected you?

My suggestions include:
-Jaws, which changed my swim habits forever.
-The Matrix, which makes me wonder if steak really tastes like steak?
-The Blair Witch Project, which makes me sleep a little uneasier in a tent.

Any more??

-Fight Club (It just made me think about myself and the duality of man alot more in depth.)
-The strangers (This movie made me to where i never answer the door or look out the window at night anymore.)
-Band of Brothers (I know it's a mini series but still, this show just put into perspective for me days of past and the hardships that the soldiers endured. It made me respect an older generation on a whole different level.)

Both Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan really help put things into perspective when it comes to history. I think to myself....wtf are they thinking running up that beach in the open under fire??? ...but THAT was duty and patriotism, not to mention a choice to survive as free countries, which can be a wakeup call for both civilians and enlisted folks alike. Thank a veteran.

if documentaries come into play....it's a whole different story.

I'm completely non-religious, but true war documentaries and stories of hardship during tough times should effect what you think of your current freedoms and privileges. You are the same age as me and you get to build friggin' bikes dude. Maybe you're ignorant? Maybe you just don't watch much media? I dunno?

or maybe i read .You dont need a mutli million dollar version of a book with special effects and shitty acting to get a good overview of things .

And as far as a movie to tell you why you have freedoms ,you should meet some veterans and get the real low down ,because its nothing like the movies.

Freedoms to allow me to build bikes were given to me by people i know personally and family members ,they dont happen to be in the movies.

The 3 hours snippet of info you get from any movie can be smashed by the info you get from print media or even the internet if you can filter out the nonsense.

im not saying its dumb ,i just think its weird.

I dont know if there are any movies that have necessarily changed my life...But some that have influenced me include:

Fight Club - This should be in at least the top 5 for every guy. So what if I have a Brad Pitt man crush. He was the epitome of "alpha" in this movie.

Amadeus - I don't know why I never saw this movie before, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and it definitely got me listening to more classical music. Love the sound of violins and cellos for some reason.

Toy Story - This movie for me is just nostalgic. Probably my favorite one growing up. There are plenty others but this one may just be at the top of my list. BTW I just spent like 10 minutes trying to remember the word "nostolgic"...that was way harder than it should have been.

Nothing changed my outlook on life from watching a movie, but a few have influenced me.

Terminator 1. For some reason my parents let me rent it when I was 8 or 9 years old. For a long time the visual style and story telling influenced me to want to work as an actor, writer, director. Some of my old writing and story boards were very Neo-noir before film-noir became popular again. It is still to this day one of my favorite movies of all time and it is BETTER than Terminator 2.

300. A visual style that had never been seen before. While lots of movies had been blue or green screened, 300 pushed it to another level with over the top visuals. We all know the story of King Leonidas, but to see it visually presented as a live action comic book with Tyler Bates soundtrack was incredible. The colors, the visuals, the soundtrack, all put this movie over the top. Everything about the movie is epic. Oh and it had redheads that were naked. That redheads+b00bs= awesome.

Top Gun. I almost joined the Navy because of the awesomeness of this movie. yes I know its fake. Yes I know it has nothing to do with real Naval Aviation. But you cant tell me you didnt and still dont get pumped during the opening credits playing Danger Zone while they launch and retrieve F14s in slow motion. The air battles are also wonderful pieces of footage that Tony Scott shot. To this day, one of my biggest regrets is that I didnt join the Navy and that I didnt become a fighter pilot. Not because I think its like Top Gun, but because of other reasons.

Godfather 1 and 2. 3 was crap. Holy sh!t!!! Everything about 1 is awesome. And everything about 2 is better than 1. 1 gets all the credit because its the original. 2 is a far superior film. These films are the text book definition of the term "epic." These are the standard and these are the untouchables. These masterpieces are when I realized that a film is different than a movie.

Oh and I forgot American Psycho. I like the book better though. The book made me give up on film and movies since I wasnt going anywhere with it and move to finance. Christian Bale's breakthrough performance is incredible. Its not the best movie out there, but it was one of the defining factors in me changing fields. And I thought it was funny that Gloria Stenium married Bale's father after railing against American Psycho so much. That must have been awkward at family get togethers...

"Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God, it even has a watermark!"

"Oh and if you dare say that I dont know whats it like get a freakin clue! I date models and strippers. So dont tell me that I dont know whats its like!" - BDiddy

man, to be honest, the departed sucks compare to the original. martin Scorsese kill the entire plot of the movie with his trash. check out the "Infernal Affairs" 1,2 and 3 which is what this movie is based from. it would blow your mind. get one with the subtitle, since its in Chinese.

Top Gun- Clearly.

Band Of Brothers - When i was a kid i glorified violence like a lot of us did, this movie changed that.

Oceans 11(remake) This sounds corny, but while i grew up with money, i always dressed in old dirty ratty clothes. I threw my entire wardrobe(worth maybe 10 bucks) and started over.

300: time to hit the gym and at least get a respectable 4 pack.
