World War Z

I've never been a big fan of zombie movies or a Pitt fan, but this new one looks very exciting. I actually can't wait to go see this one. My apologies if this is a repost.

I actually feel the opposite and I seem to be alone in this opinion. I like zombie movies but watching the trailer it feels more like I'm watching an insect alien invasion movie due to the way the zombies collectively swarm and move inhumanly fast. I mean... swarming into a zombie tower and taking out a helicopter? I'm skeptical about the zombie treatment in this flick but I'll probably still watch it. Could be fun.

Actually just read an article that the way they move is modeled after ants. Basic ideal was ants dont care about themselves or others, whatever they have to do to get to the target is what matters. So they will even use each other to make bridges to get over obstacles. And like the ants, the zombies only care about getting the next bite.

I'm stoked, it will be interesting to see how it plays out with non-typical zombies. And as long as they have been working on this movies, I really hope its great

I just read a review that said its not your typical "Mindless Zombie Movie" it actually has a really smart story line that makes you think and want more.

I'm pretty excited to see it and I usually hate zombie movies.

That's actually kinda interesting. I guess it just clashes with my personal notion of zombies. At least I got the insect association lol

I can't stand the boring slow-moving mindless zombies. That's why this one attracted me. Seems like lots of action from the zombies this time.

I'm excited for this movie! I love the whole zombie theme. Kinda lame the zombies are so quick, in the world war z and zombie survival guide books, the zombies are slow but persistent.

Haha, actually based off reviews the amount of zombie action is relatively low. It does appear to be a quick paced movie thought.

I believe that article also stated that the zombies will have a life cycle where they are slow and docile like typical zombies....until they see humans.

May be they meant individually. But seems like a lot of action collectively as a group, or groups, based on what I can see in the trailers. You are right, it'll definitely be a much faster pace than what we expect from zombies.

If you like the movie check out the book. It's really good. A pretty easy read also. Gonna go catch the movie tonight. Hope it's atleast half as good as the book was.

I saw it last night. I read reviews before I went and everyone is bashing on it. I really enjoyed it. Plenty of action and plenty of bits in the story to keep you interested. I plan on taking the wife to see it (she didn't want to go last night).

My opinion: The movie was ok/decent. Decent acting, action was pretty good, story line was good and kept you interested. Was it like the book....not even close! The only thing that it had in common with the book was the title lol

I really enjoyed it. I like how it seemed to continually twist the story, you never really knew what was going to happen.

I never read the book so I don't mind how far it strayed from it.

It was a good popcorn flick... lots of action and suspense. I'm usually pretty critical of movies but I enjoyed this one.

There wasn't much in the way of a story, but I wasn't expecting a great story anyway. Maybe that's why I liked it - I pretty much expected it to be bad and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't completely terrible... lol.

That's pretty much how I approach movies these days to minimize my disappointment.

I don't mind fast zombies but in the trailer they look like they're cheetah fast! Something about that messes with my suspension of disbelief. I'll give it watch though as there's nothing else out right now.

Just saw it last night. At first I was skeptical about the super fast zombies from the preview, but once you see the movie it will make sense.

Decent action, and it keeps a good pace of suspense that keeps you interested throughout the movie.

** SPOILER ALERT **

In the movie, they treat the infected people more like having a virus/disease and not like your typical "undead" zombies. There is a solution to the virus so that the infected will not bite you.

The last scene in the W.H.O. was pretty good when Brad Pitt had to get the "cure".

See the movie then read the book. If you read the book first you might have higher expectations for the movie when they aren't very similar at all.

I don't know. See a movie first kind of put the actor(s)/actress(es)'s face on the characters. That would ruin the point of reading for me. But in this case, Pitt's image is already associated with the main character. So I guess it wouldn't matter.

I know exactly what your saying but there's not really a main character in the book. The movie/book are so entirely different from each other, I don't think it would really matter what you read/saw first.

So I just watched it and I liked it! I was expecting to hate it which probably helped me enjoy the movie more. The scenes in the W.H.O. building reminded me of L4D2. I went home and played it after lol.
