Lone Survivor

Anyone else excited for this movie?

I read the book, and it was great. I recommend it to anyone. I was at first nervous about the movie, because they are rarely as good as the book, but they had Marcus Luttrell working with production, so that will help with the authenticity.

I cant wait for it either an I am worried they will stray from the book but hard 2 say. I have a friend who has meet Marcus an says he is a great guy so hopefully with him helping out it will be a great movie. Also I hearf somewhere that it was either the producer or director cant member which actually spend some time over seas with some seals so he can get a good idea for everything.

Yeah, it was Peter Berg who embedded with a SEAL team abroad. Berg seems to have a sense of duty to the book, and telling the story, while respecting the families and the guys who passed. Hopefully with that in mind, they won't veer too far from the book.

Have a bad feeling about it. Marky Mark in a lead role is never a good sign. Usually a sign of a cheesy B movie with lots of over acting. It's going to be a macho chest beater I fear. The trailer is already going big on the bro-angle & explosions. The book was intense but you could tell it was a desperate non cinematic scrap on the side of a rocky, dusty cliff in the middle of nowhere. This looks like it was shot in a Vermont forest.

We all have our opinions. I just find Marky Mark a cheese ball. Imagine shooter if it would have been Christian Bale or Eric Bana instead. IMO would have made it better than Marky Mark's pose & scowl. Lone Survivor was a remarkable account by a remarkable guy. The Hollywoodized versions always come off kinda goofy bro high fiveing affairs to me.

He's a really good actor and was great in Lone Survivor. Funny you refer to him as Marky Mark when hes been acting for longer then he was ever in music.

I had wanted to see Lone Survivor ever since it came out but I kept pushing it back but went and saw it on monday night, it was an excellent movie I really liked it.
