Alice in Chains

I just went to a Alice in Chains concert the other night. It was pretty wicked. Sure the band is not as great without Layne Staley, But it sure was Great!!

Who was singing, and do you know if they are heading down this way? I haven't heard anything about it. They were one of my favorite bands. RIP Layne.

Have they written any songs with the new singer, or just playing the old stuff?

Did he sound like Layne, or does he use his own sound?

Man, I love AIC! But I have a hard time accepting any version of AIC without Layne and Jerry BOTH being there.

IMO, Layne and Chris Cornell had the best voices from the grunge/alternative era in the 90s.

+1000000...soundgarden, alice in chains, and now audioslave are in the top 4 for favorite bands for me...led zeppelin is my #1 though...but i wish i could have seen AIC when Layne was alive...i think chris cornell is coming out with a solo album sometime soon

I think the song you are talking about is "Nutshell". AIC was my favorite band back when Layne was still alive, I loved their music. Now Tool have taken their place.

It's off the Grind album:

Again
Alice In Chains
Hey, let them do it again, yeah
Hey, you said you were my friend
Hey, turn me upside down, Oh
Hey, feelin' so down
Hey, hey...hey...hey...

You made a fool of me again
Again

Hey, I know I made the same mistake, yeah
I, I won't do it again, no
Why, Why you slap me in the face, oww
I, I didn't say it was OK, no
No, No...

You violate a part of me again
Again

Ah, ooo
Whoo whoo, yeah

Hey, you had time to think it out, yeah
Hey, Your weak will won't help her heal her heart
Hey, I'll bet it really eats you up

Extending part of me again
Again

Ooo
Whoo whoo, yeah

Or "Rooster" would be my guess. Much more known then the others even though they're all great songs! I loved singing Alice -n- Chains songs! Man in the box, Rooster, Would, Damn that river, and wanted to do so many more! :icon_lol:

Woohoo oooh hooooo, hooo oooh, whooo ooh ooh ooh,
Woohoo oooh hooooo, hooo oooh, whooo ooh ooh ooh,

Ain't found a way to kill me yet,
Eyes burn with sting and sweat,
Seems every path leads me to no where,
ooooooh,

Wife and kids and household pets,
Army green was no safe bet,
The bullets scream to me from somewhere,
ooooooh,

Here they come to snuff the rooster, ah yeah,
Here they come to snuff the rooseter, YEAH!!!

You know he ain't gonna die,
No! No no nooo, you know he ain't gonna die,

This thread has been brought back to life!

Saw AIC last summer open up for Velvet Revolver. I must say, I was thouroughly impressed with William Du Vall. He was spot on with his vocals. Yeah....I know you guy's are gonna say if it's not Layne it's not AIC. Jerry Cantrell wrote the majority of their song's anyway. I was fortunate enough to see AIC twice with Layne. I think they can still be a great band with William.

I heard on the radio that they were back in the studio. It would be nice to get some more tunes out of Jerry. I even liked his solo projects.
